The UI flys in the face of iOS 7? Before it merged Beautifully plus easier to use. Now its ugly & you cant zoom in to read b4 we buy like b4. iPhone 4S iOS 7.

At least give us a sample article or two to see if we like the writing and format, there is nothing in this app but a link to $3.99 issues. Why not a try before we buy teaser? Instead its just a blank page. I honestly dont know if the magazine is good or bad but the marketing is terrible. For calling this free Im feeling slighted, its like a free admission to a retail store.

The mags should be free

For the love of god people...why dont you go to your corner store and grab the hard copy of the magazine and take it home and not pay for it?!?! Just flash them your iPhone and let them know the magazine is free for iPhone owners! Morons.

There are no samples so you cant really get a feel for the magazines.

The app is free, the mags are NOT. I didnt notice the subscription detail until afterwards. I am now hunting down the auto-renew "feature" to disable it. It says "FREE" in the same manner that it does for other items that actually ARE free (including other types of subscriptions). ....& before some of you ask....Yes, I can read & Yes, I realize it is my responsibility to read through the fine print. I am just saying that these are misleading....and it is clearly intentional. Not cool. Btw - I stand behind my 1 star rating. . The app would get a fairer shake if the advert were more upfront. Its just MY opinion

Ok, so yeah, the app is free, and you have to pay for the magazines... in case some if you didnt get that before you went to download it. Yes, in a perfect world, I would have to agree that a preview of sorts would be a great before you buy an addition, but outside of that, Im happy with the app and the magazines I can access/buy.

Like the title says. Its more expensive than a hard copy subscription.

You can install the app, then you need to buy a subscription. Didnt like the surprise.

This app is crapp.... Free download then soak ya for the mags if i gota pay ill get playboy or sumthin pfffff

Pree interesting stuff but you download expecting a free preview or something annnd nothing you gotta buy every mag

For the 1-star voters, your probably one of the campers at the "99%" occupy sites around North America looking for your free hand outs. The editors and photographers dont work for free, just as you dont. You are paying for their hard work. Stop crying over your first-world problems. Saying that, the subscriptions are kind of expensive for an online copy. Id pay $2-$2.50 per issue, but for almost $5 id rather the paper magazine. The articles are amazing though and the magazine is well put together. Wish I had an iPad to read it on as the little iPhone display doesnt do it justice. Drop the price a bit and Ill buy your subscription.

All the people who are giving the magazines one star, must really not understand how subscriptions work. Did you really think that they were just going to hand out free magazines???? I honestly dont see why some of you are surprised.

I pay for the New York Times and it is the only paid periodical I want-- I pay for the paper version so I get free access on my iPhone. I used to have it in my screen box of newspapers. Now it wont stay there and is all alone in a bookshelf. How much does Apple hope to skim by selling these magazines? Will Apple now be moving into Amway? If so will it set up a box I cant get rid of?
